The T-rep platform enters its evaluation phase
As we strive to ensure maximum functionality and accessibility for the T-rep platform, will conduct a series of formal user testing sessions over the coming months. We are eager to consult with a diverse group of potential users, including both individuals with and without visual impairments.
The testing procedure involves completing a series of tasks using the platform, followed by a questionnaire to evaluate its usability and, most importantly, to gather direct feedback from our future users.
In mid-June 2026, during the International Conference on Cartography and GIS, we had the opportunity to conduct initial testing with two experts actively involved in tactile map design and production from Türkiye and South Korea. Earlier this year, we also consulted with a web accessibility expert from Poland who is visually impaired.
The feedback we have received thus far has already allowed us to implement important corrections and design improvements. We are now preparing for our next study session, where we plan to evaluate the platform with 16 participants. The data gathered will form a basis for further platform refinement and will serve as a foundation for an upcoming research paper.
We are not limiting our testing to this group, however – if you would like to test the platform before its official launch (remote testing is also available), please contact us at: trep@wat.edu.pl.
We look forward to your input and to working together to improve inclusive design. Let’s share the knowledge!
