About Us
We are an interdisciplinary team of researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of tactile cartography, accessibility, and modern production technologies. Our work focuses on developing and sharing methodologically validated approaches to designing tactile maps and graphics for blind and partially sighted people.
Drawing on years of scientific research and practical experience, we create tools, guidelines, and digital resources that support low-cost, reproducible, and high-quality tactile map production, including the use of 3D printing. We actively promote international collaboration to improve consistency, usability, and accessibility of tactile cartographic materials worldwide.
Project Goals
The goal of this project is to improve global access to high-quality tactile maps by developing and sharing standardized, validated methods for their design, evaluation, and reproduction. We aim to support faster, more affordable, and more consistent tactile map production through open digital resources and modern technologies.
A key objective is to foster international collaboration between researchers, practitioners, and organizations supporting blind and partially sighted people, helping to reduce fragmentation and move toward transnational standards in tactile cartography.
