T-rep Workshops at CartoTatil 2026

We are pleased to announce that T-rep workshops will be held during CartoTatil 2026 in Florianópolis, Brazil.

The workshops have been officially included in the conference programme and will take place on-site on 10–11 December 2026.

The sessions will focus on selected methodological and practical aspects of designing, verifying, and producing tactile cartographic materials. They will cover the following topics:

  • the T-rep platform as a tool for the international exchange of tactile graphics knowledge;
    • the inclusive and participatory approach to verifying tactile graphics materials under development;
    • the design of tactile and visual cartographic symbols and methods for their verification;
    • the design of tactile maps;
    • methodological verification of tactile map readability;
    • automation of the tactile map development process;
    • production of tactile maps using a selected reproduction technique.

The workshops will provide an opportunity to present the assumptions, methods, and practical solutions developed within the project to an international audience of researchers, educators, designers, and practitioners involved in tactile cartography and accessible graphics.

By participating in CartoTatil 2026, the project team aims to support international knowledge exchange and promote methodological approaches to the development of tactile maps and graphics for people with visual impairments.
